Jasper vs Surfer vs Buffer: The SaaS Founder Stack vs One Loop
公開日 2026年8月21日
Disclosure: I built Growthfy. This is not a neutral roundup. The comparison founders actually run is a stitched stack: Jasper for writing and brand voice, Surfer for the on-page Content Score, Buffer for the calendar. That is three tabs and three invoices. It is not one loop.
Growthfy is not a better Jasper. It is not a better Surfer. It is not a better Buffer. It is the keyword → article → X / LinkedIn / Reddit loop for a founder who is the content team. If you want the Surfer-vs-score version of this argument, it is here.
Prices below are from official public pages as of 20 August 2026.
The stack you already have
A typical week looks like this: open Jasper and fight the draft into your voice. Paste it into Surfer and chase a Content Score. Export Markdown, or copy into the CMS by hand. Rewrite the same piece for X and LinkedIn so it does not read like a blog post. Drop those into Buffer. Come back next week and guess which one produced a paying customer.
Each tool is good at its slice. The tax is the stitch. You are the integration layer.
Jasper — writing and brand voice
Jasper is a marketing writing workspace: Canvas, Brand Voice, agents, and a 7-day trial. Buy it when a team needs on-brand drafts at volume. It will not pick a buyer-intent keyword for a two-person SaaS, score the page against the SERP, or put a thread on X.
Official Jasper pricing (jasper.ai/pricing). The homepage (jasper.ai) does not print plan stickers. The pricing page does:
| Plan | Price on page | What you are buying |
|---|---|---|
| Pro (monthly toggle) | $69 / month / seat | 1 seat, Canvas, core marketing agents, 2 Brand Voices, 5 Knowledge assets, 3 Audiences. |
| Pro (yearly toggle) | $59 / month / seat | Same plan. The page shows “Save ~20%.” FAQ: 12-month commitment when you pay annually. |
| Business | Custom pricing | Complex agents, no-code custom agents, Grid, unlimited IQ, API, admin / Groups, dedicated AM. FAQ: 12-month commitment. Contact sales. |
7-day free trial of Pro. The FAQ repeats the same Pro numbers: “$59/month billed yearly or $69/month billed monthly (cancel anytime).” Nothing on that page was login-walled.
Surfer — on-page Content Score
Surfer wins at the Content Score. If the draft does not look like the pages that already rank, that is the product. It is not a distribution product. It will not rewrite the piece for X or Reddit, or tell you which article produced a Paddle charge.
Official Surfer pricing (surferseo.com/pricing), shown billed yearly:
| Plan | Price on page | What you are buying |
|---|---|---|
| Discovery | $49/mo, billed yearly | 120 documents, 10 tracked pages, AI SEO guidelines. No AI-prompt tracking on this tier. |
| Standard | $99/mo, billed yearly | 360 documents, 25 AI prompts (weekly), 1-click optimization. |
| Pro | $182/mo, billed yearly | 50 AI prompts (daily), 5 brand workspaces, internal linking, cannibalization. |
| Peace of Mind | $299/mo, billed yearly | Unlimited documents (fair use), 100 daily prompts, API, dedicated CSM. |
| Enterprise | $999/mo | Custom security, advisory, white-label. |
The public page defaults to annual billing. Month-to-month stickers were not printed as standalone prices; the FAQ says annual billing saves up to 17%. Right tool for a score. Wrong one if you still have to invent the keyword, adapt the piece, and ship it yourself.
Buffer — schedule and publish
Buffer is the calendar. You already wrote the posts. Buffer queues them across channels, with a free tier if you only need three. It does not research buyer-intent keywords or write the long-form article those posts came from.
Official Buffer pricing (buffer.com/pricing):
| Plan | Price on page | What you are buying |
|---|---|---|
| Free | $0/month | Up to 3 channels, 10 scheduled posts per channel, 100 ideas, 1 user. |
| Essentials | From $6/month per channel | Unlimited scheduled posts (fair use), unlimited ideas, 1 user. 1–10 channels at $6; volume drops after that. |
| Team | From $12/month per channel | Essentials plus unlimited members, approval workflows, access controls. 1–10 channels at $12. |
Their example table: 3 channels on Essentials is $18/mo month-to-month, or $15/mo billed yearly. Yearly billing is a 20% discount (FAQ: “approximately 2 months”). 14-day trial on paid plans; if you never add a card, you drop to Free. Their FAQ says prices were last updated in November 2025. The page was public — not login-walled.
What the stitched stack costs
Using only the stickers above, a founder on Jasper Pro + Surfer Standard + Buffer Essentials (3 channels) is looking at:
- Yearly-ish: Jasper $59/seat/mo + Surfer $99/mo + Buffer $15/mo = $173/mo, three tools, you still stitch the loop.
- Month-to-month: Jasper $69/seat + Buffer $18. Surfer did not print a monthly sticker; do not invent one.
That stack is rational if you already have writers, an editor who lives in Surfer, and a social person who lives in Buffer. It is a lot of software if you are the writers, the editor, and the social person.
Where Growthfy sits — and where it does not
Growthfy does not replace Jasper’s brand-voice workspace. It does not replace Surfer’s Content Score. It does not replace Buffer’s multi-network calendar.
It produces the loop those three tools leave on the table: a buyer-intent keyword, a long-form article, platform-native rewrites, a ship path for what is actually live, and a yes/no on the paid charge.
What is live vs what is not
This table is from the current product, not leftover docs.
| Capability | Status |
|---|---|
| Buyer-intent keyword research | Live |
| Long-form article, outline, Markdown export | Live |
| X thread rewrite + post through the browser extension | Live. DOM automation in a logged-in X tab, not the official X API. |
| LinkedIn rewrite + post through the browser extension | Live. Same extension queue as X. Not the official LinkedIn API. |
| Reddit-native rewrite | Live as a draft you copy and post yourself. Not auto-posted. |
| WordPress | Not live. You publish the Markdown elsewhere, then can paste the URL back (manual_blog). Not a native CMS. |
| Paid attribution | Live. Content × channel → a Paddle paid charge, not a signup count. |
| On-page / SERP content score | Not a product. Use Surfer. |
| Brand-voice workspace at Jasper’s depth | Not a product. Use Jasper. |
| Multi-network social calendar | Not a product. Use Buffer. |
| Official social APIs, native WordPress/Webflow publish, Reddit auto-post | Not live. Do not buy us for that. |
Growthfy pricing
These numbers are from the live homepage pricing section, not leftover docs.
| Plan | Month-to-month | Billed yearly |
|---|---|---|
| Growth | $39/mo | $32.50/mo ($390/year, charged upfront) |
| Scale | $59/mo | $44.17/mo ($530/year, charged upfront) |
3-day trial. Card required. Cancel anytime.
Growth is the default: 8 keyword runs, 30 articles, 90 social publishes, 3 channels, 3 workspaces, last 60 runs of history. Scale raises those caps — 10 workspaces, unlimited history — and includes Priority support (24h). Both include deep research, internal links, and Credit Packs.
Choose by bottleneck
| If this is the bottleneck | Buy this |
|---|---|
| The draft does not sound like us | Jasper — start their 7-day Pro trial |
| The draft does not look like the pages that already rank | Surfer |
| The posts are written; they are sitting in a doc | Buffer — Free for 3 channels, or their 14-day paid trial |
| I can write the post and still cannot get it in front of buyers, then see which piece produced a paid charge | Growthfy |
| Official LinkedIn / Reddit APIs, a native WordPress CMS, or a better Content Score | Not Growthfy |
Decision
If you already have a writer, an SEO person, and someone who lives in a social calendar, keep Jasper, Surfer, and Buffer. They are the right tools for those jobs.
If you are the content team — a buyer-intent keyword, a long-form draft, an X thread, a LinkedIn post queued through the extension, a Reddit draft you publish yourself, a Markdown file for the blog, and a yes/no on the Paddle charge — start at growthfy.ai.
Three-day trial. Card required. Cancel anytime.
